I’m Evelyn Pentikis, Esq.
Qualified Mediator.

Let's be clear: divorce is hard. But it doesn't have to be horrible.
As an attorney and mediator trained in the art of mediation and parent coordination, Evelyn Pentikis brings a rare combination of legal and parenting experience to the table. She does not act as your attorney during mediation, but her background ensures that the agreements you build together are practical, comprehensive, and built to last.
Evelyn is a active member of the New Jersey Bar. She is also a retired member of the Pennsylvania Bar. Her experience spans large firm insurance defense work and general practice, where she handled everything from divorce to real estate closings. Early in her career, she served as a law clerk to the Honorable Albert J. Snite, Jr. of the First Judicial District of Philadelphia.
She is a a Rule 1:40 qualified Divorce and Family Mediator (roster forthcoming); a Rule 1:40 qualified Civil Mediator; a Court Approved Family Roster Mediator; and a Court approved Civil Roster Mediator. She also has received specialized training as a parent coordinator and is on the Parenting Coordinator Roster for the NJ Courts. This means the courts of New Jersey have determined she has the qualifications and training to handle court-mandated cases. She brings this expertise and training not just to the court system, but to private individuals who want to avoid litigation.
Alongside developing her own practice, Evelyn collaborates with the Morristown mediation firm Adriatic Mediation, LLC (www.adriaticmediation.com) and also has a network of professionals that are at the ready to help her clients. Her network includes professionals like divorce coaches, Certified Divorce Financial Analysts, Certified Divorce lending professionals, Mortgage Advisors, Certified Divorce Real Estate Experts, Financial Planners, and divorce attorneys who can prepare your marital settlement agreement and file your divorce in the appropriate jurisdiction.
This steady experience across both civil and family mediation makes Evelyn an effective process expert no matter the subject, but especially in divorce mediation.
Most importantly, Evelyn is the mother of two sons, both college recruited athletes, and two dogs. In her free time she likes to travel, hike, and make art and write fiction. Her favorite thing to do is spend time with her kids and husband in between their busy schedules. Evelyn raised her family in Los Angeles and then Monmouth County. She is originally from Pennsylvania, and is a first-generation Greek American.
The mediation process may begin in chaos and confusion, but Evelyn promises it will end in clarity and peace, so you can begin the next chapter of your life with more energy to devote to happier things.
"Marriage is a legal arrangement, and over the years it ties two people together in all sorts of ways: the house, the retirement accounts, the debt, the kids' schedules, the pets.
My job is to sit down with both of you and untangle it, one step at a time, until you're holding an agreement you shaped instead of a verdict someone handed you.
I'm an attorney, so you'll get honest answers about how New Jersey law actually works. I'm also a trained neutral who helps the both of you resolve the issues in a way that makes sense for each of you, regardless what others and the law says."
Court-qualified, on both sides
Rule 1:40 qualified in family and civil mediation, and on the Family, Civil, and Parenting Coordinator rosters for the New Jersey courts. The courts have vetted this training. You get it privately, without the courtroom.
A lawyer's eye, but not your lawyer
I don't represent either of you. What my legal background does is make sure the agreement you build together is practical, complete, and holds up after you sign it.
A full bench behind you
When a question falls outside my role, I have people. Divorce coaches, Certified Divorce Financial Analysts, mortgage and real estate specialists, financial planners, and attorneys who draft and file. You are never sent off to figure it out alone.
You decide, not a judge
Mediation keeps the outcome in your hands. My job is to run the process so the two of you can make decisions you will both still be able to live with in five years.

Evelyn helps you find the one that best serves you, your family, and your future.
